We can also provide a bespoke funeral allowing you to choose from a wide range of options, such as a horse-drawn hearse or a coffin printed with favourite colours or images. |
At Maillards we realise that a funeral can be an unexpected expense. Our funeral directors are here to explain and guide you through the costs so that there are no nasty surprises.
As we are the only fully independent local funeral directors, we feel we are able to offer a high quality and realistically priced service. We are not part of a larger group and not responsible to shareholders and are therefore not governed by price.
We are extremely competitive with our fees so there is no need to pay more than you have to. Please feel free to compare prices, but it is important to ensure that any quote covers all the costs needed to carry out the funeral, including third party costs.
Every funeral we arrange is different and is based on your personal wishes and those of the deceased. We therefore tailor the funeral around your requirements and can advise on the associated costs for the service you require.
This should be done at the time of arranging the funeral with the funeral director and is the best way of obtaining an estimate. You can then adjust the total price by adding or deducting items to suit your resources.
Funeral costs are made up of two parts. Firstly, the cost of the professional services provided by the Funeral Director and secondly, disbursements. These are the costs made to third parties, often before or at the time of the funeral, such as Church fees, doctor’s fees and cremation fees.
To give you some guidance, we have put together a breakdown below covering some basic funeral services to give an indication of what you can expect to pay.
When you’re ready, please call us for more information on 01534 737291

Here are some of the most regular fees needed to conduct a funeral.
There are of course further options as each funeral is bespoke, so please ask the funeral director for details.
