As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, we are very restricted on the types of funeral service we are able to offer. We can reassure you that we are therefore reducing our fees accordingly to reflect this. Please contact one of our funeral directors for more information.
At Maillards we realise that a funeral can be an unexpected expense. Our funeral directors are here to explain and guide you through the costs so there are no nasty surprises.
As we are the only fully independent local funeral directors, we feel we are able to offer a high quality and realistically priced service. We are not part of a larger group and not responsible to shareholders and are therefore not governed by price.
We are extremely competitive with our fees so there is no need to pay more than you have to. Please feel free to compare prices, but it is important to ensure that any quote covers all the costs needed to carry out the funeral, including third party costs.
Every funeral we arrange is different and is based on your personal wishes and those of the deceased. We therefore tailor the funeral around your requirements and can advise on the associated costs for the service you require. This should be done at the time of arranging the funeral with the funeral director and is the best way of obtaining an estimate. You can then adjust the total price by adding or deducting items to suit your resources.
Funeral costs are made up of two parts. Firstly, the cost of the professional services provided by the Funeral Director and secondly, disbursements. These are the costs made to third parties, often before or at the time of the funeral, such as Church fees, doctor’s fees and cremation fees.
To give you some guidance, we have put together three packages below covering some basic funerals to give an indication of what you can expect to pay.
